At SLT with Gemma, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is our highest priority. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and work in line with UK safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

We believe that every child has the right to feel safe and protected from harm. Abuse, neglect or exploitation of any kind will not be tolerated. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and any concerns regarding a child's welfare will be taken seriously and acted upon appropriately.

As a registered Speech and Language Therapist, Gemma maintains up to date safeguarding training and follows local safeguarding procedures. Where concerns arise, advice or referrals will be sought from the relevant safeguarding agencies in a timely manner.

At SLT with Gemma, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients and their families. Personal information is collected, stored and processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We only collect information that is necessary to provide speech and language therapy services, communicate with clients, maintain clinical records, and meet our legal and professional obligations. Personal data is kept secure, accessed only by authorised individuals, and retained in line with professional record-keeping requirements.

We will not share personal information with third parties without consent unless there is a legal obligation to do so, including where there are safeguarding concerns or concerns about the safety and wellbeing of a child or vulnerable person.

Clients have the right to request access to their personal data, request corrections to inaccurate information, and raise concerns about how their data is used.
